“Today, the Court issued clarifying guidance about the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) related to DOGE employees and DOGE activities at the Social Security Administration (SSA). Therefore, I am not shutting down the agency. President Trump supports keeping Social Security offices open and getting the right check to the right person at the right time. SSA employees and their work will continue under the TRO.”

As everyone knows, The Trumpster lies every time he opens his mouth. Therefore, he most likely WILL shut down the SSA adm.

    Dear Mr Duden:
If my PII gets into the hands of Mr Musk for use with Grok (which is his real intent), I will hold you personally accountable! This is a huge invasion of privacy for anyone receiving SS benefits! Also, millions depend upon the payments which resulted from their own money. Turn off systems?? Big threat and totally wrong of you.

Everyone is in such a panic about DOGE and their actions. We have had decades of a government fraught with corruption, fraud and wasteful spending. We have got to put the brakes on, assess hundreds of agencies about their legitimacy and how they are spending MY money. I agree 150% of these actions and righting a ship that is off course, can be very painful at the onset of the mission. Everyone take a chill pill and let things run their course.

We and my husband went into a Social Security Office located at 190 and Halsted on March 21, 2025.
We sign in and received a number, we sat down and waited to be called.
Our number was call around 45 minutes later. We walked up to the windows and requested a Voluntary Withholding Request. My husband no longer wanted Withholding taxes taken from his S.S. check. We were given the form to complete an a envelope to place the VWR form in. And told to place the envelope in the box outside of the office. I ask the representative if we could return the form to her after we completed it. She said no, this made no since to us. She said if we wanted to wait, she would place our number back in the system, an someone would recall our number. I said ok, because we are seniors, and did not want to come back to the office. Just to turn in a Withholding form. So we waited another 30 minutes. Just to hand someone else the Withholding form and my 75 years old husband identification.
This is extremely poor customer service.

Well I, like millions of seniors depend on my monthly check from ssa (which I paid into my entire working life) to keep myself housed and fed. If ssa shuts down you are effectively killing us. One thing we seniors do is vote. If the Trump administration shuts down social security after he promised not to touch it Republicans can kiss the white house goodbye for the next couple elections

Your words carry no meaning. This administration is out of control and will change course at the whim of a deranged president.

I’ve been getting social security since 2004. Will I have to reconfirm?

Hi, Cynthia. No. You do not need to contact Social Security to continue your monthly benefits at your current bank. If you need to change your direct deposit information in the future, you can change that information online with a personal my Social Security account or automatic enrollment service through your bank. For more information visit our Frequently Asked Questions page. We hope this helps.

Why is it impossible to log into my social security account? I understand you try to make it hard to steal my account but my God you give me a dozen differant numbers to use to sign in and even they don’t work. I am living in the Philippines and it’s not possible to call you. One time I went to the US Embassy for information and was given WRONG information. I hope you can make it easier to access my account. Thank you
