“Today, the Court issued clarifying guidance about the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) related to DOGE employees and DOGE activities at the Social Security Administration (SSA). Therefore, I am not shutting down the agency. President Trump supports keeping Social Security offices open and getting the right check to the right person at the right time. SSA employees and their work will continue under the TRO.”

I do not agree with the slash and burn approach to government.People have planned their lives counting on S.S. money they paid in while working. I will expect to receive check as usual. I thank you for having more common sense than our president and the DOGE boys. Their plan to close many offices, cut # of staff on phones, and expect elderly citizens to handle internet claims is certainly a Catch-22 scheme. Please don’t cave on staying open!

“By the people”: Refers to who chooses those people who make up the government, emphasizing popular sovereignty.
“For the people”: Highlights that the government’s purpose is to serve the people and promote their well-being.

“Not shutting down the agency” Do we now live in a dictatorship? SSA is legislatively authorized and funded.
No-one has the authority to shut it down unless the funding is withdrawn. You are just the executive administrator.

Dudek knew this was wrong. He thought this would be a good excuse to shut down the agency and blame it on somebody else. One more Trump / Doge attempt to dismantle the government without taking responsibility.
