“I want to provide an update to people who receive benefits from the Social Security Administration.

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced on April 1 that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an economic impact payment. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 to generate $1,200 economic impact payments to Social Security beneficiaries who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019.

Treasury, not Social Security, will make automatic payments to Social Security beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will receive these payments by direct deposit or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their Social Security benefits.

For updates from the IRS, visit their web page.

Note for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Recipients:

We are working closely with Treasury to address outstanding questions about our SSI recipients in an attempt to make the issuance of economic impact payments as quick and efficient as possible. We realize people are concerned, and the IRS will provide additional information on their web page when available. Please note that we will not consider economic impact payments as income for SSI recipients, and the payments are excluded from resources for 12 months.”

I just checked the IRS Get My Payment app on the IRS website and it showed that my husband’s payment will be deposited to his Direct Express account on April 29th (Wednesday).

But it also, it showed it would be automatically sent to his bank account ending in XYZ….(And since the Direct Express does not give out info of routing numbers and bank account info for the public to see is the reason why it only showed the last four numbers..
I just read that info on the Direct Express site, when you press on the C-Virus info.

However, mine it showed will be mailed out May 1, 2020, due to I’m still in the filing status of IRS…
I had inputted my BoA account info to late, in order for them to send my payment quicker.
(That’s what happens when a person waits too late, like me in utilizing the resources available..
    My bad)..
I thought, at first it was gonna come to my Direct Express..but now I know different..

And Rick thanks for sending out the break-down of the stimulus payments and financial brackets.

Thanks for all today, for info as well.

I a m still wondering why they are given payments to. people who have been on fixed income ….. when people they are really struggling are the ones that are not getting a paycheck I also heard they are giving people on welfare extra income on their food stamps and cash payment ….this is ridiculious as they are already getting what they have always gotten and know they get extra money when people that work hard are really struggling without paycheck and unemployment benefits are not being processed quickly enough ……..

Everyone who hasn’t gotten their information yet
Hang in there….It seems since they started doing “maintenance” every night since Friday a lot more people have had their updates.

I also follow the IRS Twitter page and there were people in bad bad bad situations that now see their information

Hang in there. I am on SSDI and I have my DD date just to clear up my situation

No kids to file for so the IRS was 100% correct on getting my bank information from social security

I am still waiting to receive my stimulus check.

I just checked the IRS Get My Payment app on the IRS website and they say my payment will be deposited to my direct express account on April 29th (Wednesday) so finally we are getting that stimulus payments sent to us. One thing though, they are sending pay to lower income first, then next to lowest, and then upward. If your in a higher income bracket, you might be waiting longer, perhaps months away. Check the Get My Payment on the IRS website every day to see when they finally get up to yours. Good luck!

I believe the money bracket were for those who do not have direct deposit
They also stated about 99% of people on SSDI (I’m also sure on SSI) have some sort of direct deposit
