Supplemental Security Income Recipients Will Receive Automatic COVID-19 Economic Impact Payments

The Treasury Department announced that Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from the Treasury Department.  Treasury anticipates these automatic payments to go out no later than early May.

SSI recipients with no qualifying children do not need to take any action in order to receive their $1,200 economic impact payment. The payments will be automatic.

SSI recipients who have qualifying children under age 17, however, should not wait for their automatic $1,200 individual payment. They should now go to the IRS’s webpage and visit the Non-Filers: Enter Your Payment Info section to provide their information. By taking proactive steps to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual payment. If SSI beneficiaries in this group do not provide their information to the IRS soon, they will have to wait until later to receive their $500 per qualifying child.

This is great news for SSI recipients, and I want to remind recipients with qualifying children to go to IRS.gov soon so that you will receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for. I also want to thank the dedicated employees of the Treasury Department, Social Security, and the Internal Revenue Service for making this happen and working non-stop on this issue.

SSI Recipients with Dependent Children Should Still Go To IRS.gov to Provide Their Information

Social Security retirement, survivors, and disability insurance beneficiaries (who don’t normally file taxes) will also qualify for automatic payments of $1,200 from Treasury. These payments are anticipated to start arriving around the end of April.

The Treasury Department, not Social Security, will make these automatic payments to beneficiaries. Recipients will generally receive the automatic payments by direct deposit, Direct Express debit card, or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their SSI or Social Security benefits.

For those SSI and Social Security retirement, survivors, and disability insurance beneficiaries, with dependent children, who use Direct Express debit cards, additional information will be available soon regarding the steps to take when claiming children under 17, on the IRS website.

Please note that the agency will not consider Economic Impact Payments as income for SSI recipients, and the payments are excluded from resources for 12 months.

For more information about Social Security retirement, survivors, and disability insurance beneficiaries, please see our most recent blog.

The eligibility requirements and other information about the Economic Impact Payments can be found on the IRS website. In addition, please continue to visit the IRS for the latest information.

    GOOD MORNING
SO EVERYONE NOW SEES THE FOREST FOR THE TREES. IVE BEEN TELLING THESE SHEEP THE SSA AND IRS ALREADY HAD OUR CHECKS READY TO GO OUT WEEKS AGO. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY CAN SO CONFIDENTLY GUARANTEE WE WILL ALL GET OUT STIM PAY BY THE END OF APRIL? BECAUSE ON MAY 1ST THEY WILL PUSH SEND. LOL.
ALL OF YOU SSD RECIPIENTS WHO THINK YOU HAVE A STIMULUS CHECK COMING THIS WEEK HAVE ANOTHER THING COMING CALLED DISAPPOINTMENT. THERE WILL BE NO CHECKS TO OUR GROUP BECAUSE WE GOT PUSHED OUT OF THE SECOND WAVE OF CHECKS AND LUMPED IN WITH THOSE ON SSI WHEN THEY KEPT BITCHING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO FILL OUT A NON FILERS FORM. THE SAME PEOPLE ON THIS SITE TELLING US WE ARE WRONG FOR TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW SSI DELAYED OUR CHECKS FOR THREE WEEKS ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WOULDNT USE WHATEVER THEY ARE USING TO COMMENT ON THIS BLOG TO FILL OUT THE NON FILERS FORM.
THE IRONY IS THAT THE PEOPLE ON SSI WHO ACTUALLY FOLLOWED THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS AND USED THE NON FILERS FORM ARE GOING TO RECEIVE THEIR CHECKS ON THE 22ND. WHEREAS PEOPLE ON SSD ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DEPENDANTS WILL BE WAITING FOR WEEKS BECAUSE THE NON FILERS TOOL ALLOWS SSD RECIPIENTS TO FILL OUT THE FORM BUT IT WAS DESIGNED NOT TO ACTUALLY WORK FOR PEOPLE ON SSD SO WE WILL NEVER GET A DEPOSIT DATE.
AM I PISSED OFF? YEA. SOME PEOPLE MIGHT SAY ITS ON A FEW WEEKS DELAY BUT I JUST DONT LIKE BEING LIED TO. WE WERE TOLD WE WERE TO BE PART OF THE SECOND WAVE OF PAYMENTS IN APRIL AND NOW WE ARENT EVEN INCLUDED IN ANY OF THE WAVES IN THE ACTUAL MONTH. WHICH IVE SUSPECTED AND REPORTED ON WEEKS AGO ON THIS VERY SITE. BUT THE SAD THING IS THAT WE HAVE PEOPLE STILL ASKING THESE SSA SHILLS QUESTIONS AND THANKING THEM FOR PROVIDING LINKS AND DOUBLE SPEAK THAT TURNS OUT TO BE LIES A WEEK LATER BUT THEY NEVER CALL THEM ON IT. BUT ANYONE BOLD ENOUGH TO SPEAK ON THE LIES GETS ATTACKED PERSONALLY BY THE LIED TO.
BECAUSE THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS; WE ARE ALL LIVING THROUGH A PANDEMIC. THIS IS A HEALTH CRISIS . WE ARE TRYING TO BUY SURVIVAL ESSENTIALS AS THE POOREST AND MOST FORGOTTEN ABOUT DEMOGRAPHIC IN AMERICA AND THE LONGER WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR OUR STIMULUS CHECKS THE MORE OF US ARE GOING TO BE IN THOSE MASS GRAVES. IT IS NOT A JOKE. WE ARE THE PEOPLE DYING FROM THIS VIRUS. THE OLD. THE DISABLED. THOSE WITH COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEMS. THEY ARE LITERALLY KILLING WITHOUT LIFTING A FINGER.

The only thing you support is my dick on your face

    • david

      What dick?

    • greg n.

don’t be stupid man.if that kids under age this kind of comment is no joke.just ignore it. this is not the place for this crap

      • david

No, let him. Let “davesdaddy/we’re the millers” keep on going. Its good entertainment. I love the name switches and poor insults.

        • Were t.

Name switches i didnt switch names . yeah its good entertainment thank you and be well were the millers lol

          • david

You just fucked up, dumb ass.

  3. david

And to “We’re the millers” kindly stop with your useless replies. I was bored with you over an hour ago. Seriously, my education far exceeds anything any one of you ass clowns could ever imagine. And the kicker here is, I’m likely half your age… at the very least, half! We can do this dance all night, but I will continue to verbally bitch slap your gibberish all over this blog. Why do I come here? I am a Trump supporter, plain and simple. Do you really believe that our great president REALLY wanted you takers to see a cent from this stimulus package? Please. Get your heads out of your asses. Why on Gods green earth do you think you people are dead last in getting any money? Just be thankful that you get anything at all. Quit your bitching and endless whining and questions…. wah wah where’s my money? what do I do? someone hold my hand, someone wipe my ass, how do I get a WHOLE WHOPPING $500 for my kids, that I likely had just to collect even more of the governments money, or avoid the work scene. “God knows, I surely don’t want to drag my lazy ass out of bed before 11:00 AM”. And spare me with all the “you live at home with mommy and daddy” shit. SURE DO FOLKS. I am JUST 17 years old, and have actually worked multiple times during childhood. Making more money than any of you butt holes will make in a lifetime mooching off the system.

    • alex

well i get ss because I worked 42 years. i am not mooching off no one.

      • david

I wasn’t referring to the decent folks who worked hard and paid in to the system.

        • alex

          ok carry on.

  4. Davesdaddy

Because didn’t you hear he lives in Hollywood meaning for money he sold his butt hole at least 1000 times over

    • david

Yup. I saw you in line, just begging to get a piece of my precious ass. 😉

  5. Christine

Will a married social security recipient get the $2400 payment? Can’t find an answer to this question anywhere. Thanks.

    • V.V.

Hi Christine, thank you for your question. Please visit the IRS Economic Impact Payments Information Center to answer your questions about eligibility, payment amounts, what to expect, when to expect it and more. Hope this helps!

  6. Were t.

Round n round what goes around comes around just give it time if your so lucky to live to that long in age ! I dont see anything golden in it but everyday pain

    • david

No jr, pain is what you HOPE for me. lol
You can only dream. Just as you do about that check that you are still drooling over. Sooo damnnn clossssse can almost taaaaaste it….

      • Diana H.

        y are u such a dick?

        • david

I guess for the same reason you take advantage of the system: Because I can do it?

  7. Amanda M.

I have ssi and ssd because i recently was told by ssa that I qualified for ssd under my dad’s ssd because I was qualified disabled at 19 for ssi but been disabled since I was a child and never knew to Apply for ssi

Anyways I was wondering if I would get the stimulus 2nd round this week for ssd or have to wait for the 3rd round for ssi?

    • george

and a partridge in a pear tree..

  8. Francine G.

My son gets Direct Deposit of Social Security, because both me and his dad are disabled. My son lives with me and I’m his Rep Payee. Do I need to do anything in order for my son to receive his $500? This is kinda confusing.

    • V.V.

Hi Francine, thank you for using our blog. People who receive Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability insurance benefits, who did not file a tax return for 2018 or 2019, and who have qualifying children under age 17 and those receiving SSI who have qualifying children under age 17 should go to the IRS’s webpage to enter your information instead of waiting for your automatic $1,200 Economic Impact Payment. By taking proactive steps to enter information on the IRS website about you and your qualifying children, you will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to your $1,200 individual payment. If Social Security beneficiaries and SSI recipients in this group do not provide information to the IRS soon, you will have to wait to receive $500 per qualifying child.

  9. Jo

If they were going to give us a date they would have already expected on your next monthly benefit payment

    • Peter

You know thats what i thought they say at the end of april ssdi ! And the beginning of may for ssi , i think my opinion is we all get it on may 1st and technically may 1st is the end of april and the beginning of may ! So its like they gave us a clue, to see if we can figure it out and no the Butler didnt do it or the maid, so yes its a thought be well n happy

  10. Levina

Can we please get serious. So the latest is the end of april early may, or are we really just getting it with our may checks? has anything new been released? i feel like since the tax payers got their money, the news coverage kind of dwindled about stimulus payments. unless I just want to keep reading the same story about dead people getting checks and some guy getting an 8 mill mistake deposit.

    • Jess

Well of course it’s dwindled, when have we ever mattered?

At this point, none of us know. Some times it seems like people are being legit about receiving deposits.. honestly we just do not know. It’s useless and obnoxious to ask the exact same questions over and over and over again. Everything regarding our checks have been published. Continue to google stimulus to see if anything new appears. Other than that, its a waiting game for everyone. It’s like being a kid and having the anxiety of waiting for Christmas, except it didn’t really matter if your 5 year old self got that drink and wet doll or train set, but it DOES matter if your adult self can afford to eat and pay insane delivery costs.

      • david

I might find you funny but Aniston doesn’t live in Malibu, she sold her property there, likely for the same reason a lot of other wealthy people have. We no longer have private rights to the water, and the place is over ran by idiots and bums. There is 0 privacy now. She is 5 minutes away from here. And when she and Pitt go public, the obsessed pin heads of the world can thank me for sharing that first. And I aint no tabloid mag. I have eyes. And by the way Jess, spell check is not always your friend.

        • george

          best comment ever

        • Rob

          Hahahahahahahahahhhahaha ,holy fuck hahahahhahahahahahahahhahahaha

    • V.V.

Hi Levina, thank you for your question. Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who do not have qualifying children under age 17 do not need to take any action with the IRS. You will automatically receive your $1,200 economic impact payment directly from the IRS. You should receive the automatic payments by direct deposit, Direct Express debit card, or by paper check, just as you would normally receive your Social Security benefits. Treasury expects automatic payments for Social Security beneficiaries no later than the end of April and automatic payments for SSI recipients no later than early May. We hope this helps.
