Hi Rosalyn, thank you for using our blog. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is the agency, which receives and analyzes public complaints related to identity theft. We hope they can help. Thanks!

I keep receiving at least once a week a similar call to several of those listed above where a woman is telling me my Soc. Sec card is being fraudently used along the South Texas border requesting personal information and giving a number to call, person to talk to. I know from former experience that no one at the IRS or Social Security office makes calls like this so I have ignored it. Over the past few months I have gotten about 15 of these calls. I have blocked most of the numbers and just received another one so I put it into my address book so I would know what it was and not answer. I received some other legitimate information from Soc. Sec. yesterday and I saw your notice on the envelope about reporting incidents like to you and I am sending the number I was called from for your records. 1-281-250-8341 last call 3/19/20.
