Social Security is now on the ‘Gram’

I will be 83 years old on January 3rd, 2020. I need all the help I can get with housework. I have degrative bone disease in my lumbar spine. I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment in a senior and disabled 6 story building in Auburn, WA. I have 2 2 and1/2-year-old cats that are comfort/ companion animals. I can take total care of them and do all my own cooking. I can do all my own dishes.

Hi Althea. You may be eligible to receive social services from the state in which you live. These services include free meals, housekeeping help, transportation, or help with other problems. To get information about services in your area, and find out if your brother qualifies, you will need to contact your state or local social services or welfare office. We hope this helps.

No doubt that we live on Social Security if it end in 2020 we will be out in the street, we only get less that $1700 per month and i have to try to get some kind of work just to make the bills so with our Social Security we won’t have a dime to live on https://www.ngyab.com/

It’s so sad that you only use ELECTRONIC MEDIA, to only show your information to the public. Those many thousands, millions of Americans that live OVERSEAS for SURVIVAL purposes are not allowed to have a Social Security online account. We don’t have mail services anymore in Guatemala to receive or send any correspondence out. Local embassy doesn’t have Social Security information anymore, it’s been transferred to our embassy in Costa Rica. The cost of a phone call is International and is expensive per minute. Besides, when I did call, there is a recording that they do not answer cslls, but to send an email which gets put into a queue and takes time to wait. International Banking and the other Government agencies uses online systems accessible anywhere in the world, so WHY CAN’T SSA? We are old people who have come to our time to rest and to enjoy what time of life we have left on this planet. It’s difficult enough to be struggling through life at an old age. In conclusion, this does not Paint a pretty picture of reality in today’s times. Thank you so much for giving this option for a response, to allow us getting our flustrations out.
