social security Instagram account image Over the last decade, the way Social Security communicates with you has evolved to include electronic messages, through our social media channels. We spread our message about a lifetime of protections on Twitter, LinkedIn, our Facebook page,  and on our YouTube channel.

We are proud to add Instagram as our newest social media channel. As we do on the others , we share information and resources on our Instagram page that can help you and your loved ones — with a visual focus. As the old adage goes, sometimes a picture says more than a thousand words. We look forward to maximizing this platform’s storytelling style of posting to share stories that help you.

Using Instagram’s vast reach of over one billion users a month, we can share information about Social Security programs and benefits with millions of people. We want to start a conversation with you and create a lasting connection. Connecting with us on social media helps you share important information and knowledge with the people you care about.

Check out our Instagram page today! You can follow our posts, comment on them, quote them, repost them, and help us spread the message. Follow @SocialSecurity for valuable content or, as they say on the ‘Gram’, #instagood posts.

No doubt that we live on Social Security if it end in 2020 we will be out in the street, we only get less that $1700 per month and i have to try to get some kind of work just to make the bills so with our Social Security we won’t have a dime to live on https://www.iminathi.com/

I am out of the country and I have asked for the 3 forms that I need a new password, canceling my medicare and requesting to use my spouse’s income. On the second request, I got only the for to cancel my Medicare. I filled it out and sent it back, that was in February 2019, they are still deducting it from my check as if I never canceled and I got no notice through email that they received it. It would be great if I could at least get my password fixed and then I’m sure I fix the rest. Any suggestions that are beyond traveling all the way back to the USA for something that I could easily fix online once getting a password fix! Or, can we apply for a new account?

Hi, Debra. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Since you are living outside of the U.S. you can contact your local Federal Benefits Unit for any assistance related to Social Security benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad. We hope this helps.

i was scammed and had to change my bank accounts immediately and social security said for me to leave existing accounts active until they say change them.
no way so i guess my retirement checks will stop or maybe they will mail me the checks and i can deposit them.

While I use my desktop computer daily and my new smart phone occasionally, I don’t use social media. Please keep E-Mail contacts in force.

I wish they would just leave the Social Security money alone it doesn’t belong to any body but the people who earned it. Stop letting any body stick there hands into it and just chop them off when they try.
    Thank you Ronald.
