It would be nice to sue the federal government for mismanagement of our hard-earned funds.

Take the cap off of Social Security the problem will be solved

      • William G.

Well my concern is about social security is broken they don’t help a the people with disabilities some time the social security give me a rong information they don’t sending me letters how much I need make for work amount they confuse me when I call costumer service thelady told me gross 1.3000 dollars other told me social security I need to make a2000 dollars they confuse me thank

      • Jeremy

If you take the cap off they will just continue to spend that as well…The government is stealing our money.

      • Mark R.

Agreed. That solves a huge problem with keeping social security solvent. Why is there a cap in the first place ?

  2. Denise M.

I only received my monthly SSDI payment for my income and I need dental work done so bad. I have infections all the time on my face swells up and I’m always in pain. I live on Oragel and Fish Mox to get the infection gone for a bit. Is there any help out there for dental work? $1000 1 year isn’t going even come close to pay for it and I can’t be afford it. I can barley afford to pay my bills. I actually can’t even pay all of them as I pay every other months so I’m always behind. I am afraid I’m going to die from this.

    • Ann C.

Hi, Denise. We are sorry to hear about your condition and situation. You may be eligible to receive social services from the state in which you live. To get information about services in your area and find out if you qualify, you will need to contact your state or local social services or welfare office. We hope this helps.

  3. Steve

any time that the government handles your money they screw it up and waste it just like USPS just look how they screwed it up

  4. G.E.S.

I believe ONLY THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE PAID INTO IT or partner that paid in for them SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO COLLECT. You need to STOP giving money to anyone that wants it and has someone that knows how to get it for them. The people that have their own businesses on-line and just word of mouth need to pay in also.

I want to know how immigrants qualify for SS payments ncer having a job in in the United States?

    • John

If you read the report, you’ll see that immigrants who work legally in the US are helping to keep Social Security solvent. The US doesn’t have enough young workers paying into Social Security to support all the Baby Boomers who are retiring now. Immigrants come to the US as young workers & contribute to the system. They are helping keep Social Security afloat. It’s in the report.

  6. Judith A.

In my mind the answer It’s so simple:
*Tax paychecks for full year… When Social Security is being taken out of our paychecks in the first part of the year people don’t miss that money, so why not just let social security tax for the whole year on the income… It’s going to benefit the people in the long run because they’ll be able to have Social Security when they retire… If this doesn’t happen then their social security retirement checks will be cut to lower amount or who knows how much, so it’s to the workers benefit if they allow Social Security to tax the worker’s paycheck for the whole year, which I Believe will take care of the problem!

The government can afford to fund whatever they seem to want to fund, and you rarely hear backlash.

We need to STOP SUPPORTING those government officials that take from SSI and SSDI, and DEMAND this very important program gets 110% funded every single year.

Stop sending billions to other countries, and take care of our own FIRST!

It’s also disgraceful to have already paid taxes on your SSI once, and have to pay again when one starts drawing.

If we the people LET this system fail, then it’s partly our fault, as many sit and complain, but how many actually stand and do something about it?

      • Anonymous2

I agree with you. However, a lot of those politicians are already wealthy and don’t care. The young people seem to not want to work and resent the boomers for taking away ” their” money. We will be looking for jobs in 10 years or on the streets and that would be a shame either way.

  8. Dorothy

I believe the disability roles need to be reviewed seriously. I know of many people drawing that for hearing loss, back issues, etc., but they can build on their houses and do many other things that could be drawing them income. Some do, under the table.
I am all for the military, but I know of retired military on 100 percent disability, working civil service jobs and drawing full paychecks.
If Social Security has truly loaned money to railroad retirement, it should be paid back.
We never hear of welfare or funding to illegals going broke, but are down to 10 years before Social Security goes broke. For those of us in our seventies, it means before 80 we will have to get a job or find other means to support ourselves, pretty scary.
    Just saying…

  9. Incognito

US census bureau problem is workforce participation not the government. 1 babyboomers retiring. 2 Men wanting to stay home and play video games. 3 30%of younger men have criminal backgrounds . 4 Drug addicts. Plus women want to stay home and raise children. Now this problems should been parents kick their butts out and make go get Job. Feed Johnny past eighteen is only going to hurt your future social security.

    • Incognito

One rule I had with my children,You will not sit home on rear end doing nothing, get up and do something with your life. Quit hindering your children. Like military ad says be All you can be.

      • Rocky

Why work. Social security fraud is common. Fat (0ver weight), drug and alcohol addiction is a disability. Only stolid people work and pay into SSI.

What is the government investing the trust fund money in that is giving back 3%?

The Social Security trust funds use to sold as market securities to the general public. Now it is held by the government to invest in government programs that never made a dime and can’t pay it back.

The government has transferred the Social Security trust funds into the Railroad Retirement Program for 65 years and never paid any of it back. The Railroad retirees get double the amount of Social Security retirees because we partially fund their retirement. Are they going to pay us back with 3% interest compounding after 65 years?

What other dead beat government program is supported with investments from the Social Security trust fund?

    • William G.

My concern is about social security administration they don’t sending agood information they confuse me when I call costumer service they told me the gross a mount 1.3000 dollars the others costumer service told me is 2000 dollars a month social security administration is broken I don’t know hum is behind that that not good thank
