Today, the Social Security Board of Trustees released its annual report on the current and projected financial status of Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) and Disability Insurance (DI) Trust Funds.

The combined funds reserves are projected to become depleted in 2035, one year later than projected last year, with 80 percent of scheduled benefits payable at that time. The DI Trust Fund reserves are estimated to become depleted in 2052, extended 20 years from last year’s estimate of 2032, with 91 percent of benefits still payable.

I recieve ssa survivor benefits and have not recieved my stimulous payment. I am not required to file taxes as this is my only income. I don’t have any dependents and no one claims me as a dependent. I do have direct deposit set up. The ssa website has a form that says ssa survivors will recieve stimulous payments by April 30. I have not??? Something is wrong. SSA must not have communicated my information to the IRS correctly.

Hello, I do a lot need your help. I arrived to the United States from Cuba since March, 17th, 2020. I recibied my SSN and the SSN to my son in the fifteen days after our arrival on automatic way. All was in order until this moment, but I didn’t recibe yet the SSN to muy husband. He came with us since the same date and correspond to the same case processed by Diversity Lottery Visa. I’ m so worried!!! He can’t begin to work because of this situation and he is the support of our family because the schools are closing by coronavirus, then I can’t work anyway. Please, can you help me? I’m desperate!!!

Glad to see at least a little improvement. Social security is a vital part of our country’s safety net. Hopefully we can keep making positive changes to the program.
