Why beneficiaries overseas cannot create a My Social Security Account? This appears to be discrimination.

I’m trying to open my SSA Account online using my correct ssn # !!! I keep getting rejected. What would be the reason for this? I do have a security alert at all credit bureaus. Is this the reason? I previously had one n could enter with no problem. No code was provided for me. Tku.

Call SSA directly. Even if you have to hold for an hour or more they can resolve this. I had it happen too. Or go to a local SSA office. Ck online for best days/times to go as they do differ and are closed half day certain day of week.

I myself encountered a scenario relatively close as the one you describe.
It took quite a bit of effort and frustration to accomplish this, but the determination and persistence shall prevail in the “scope” of thing’s!
      Good luck!

Also, a proper Thank you is being extended to the parties collectively for all their assistance in getting this accomplished!!

      HAPPY MONDAY!

Applied for replacement SS card over a month ago.
To this date, I’ve yet to receive it.
I went on line to apply…message states I enter an incorrect SS#….the same # I’ve had over forty years.
I need the replacement card immediately for employment purposes.

    What more should I do?

    • Lori

My personal experience is to just go to the closest branch BUT call first or check online which documents you need to bring with you for proof to receive a replacement card! I haven’t had luck with this process other than going in (which can be a pain when your disabled and need to coordinate rides and help). Best luck to you!
