I Am overseas and can’t fine my social securirt number.
How can i obtain it online or a direct phone number.

    • Luis A.

Hi Lia. At this time, you must have a U. S. mailing address to create or access your online account. People with APO/FPO/DPO addresses can create an account overseas, but our system does not support registration and account creation for users with a foreign address yet. If you are living outside the United States, you can contact your nearest Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) for assistance with Social Security questions. For information on Social Security benefit payments outside of the U.S., please see our publication titled “Your Payment While You Are Outside the United States.” We hope this information helps.

Replacement card was scheduled to arrive by 10/02/19. It has not arrived. Who do I need to contact?

    • Luis A.

Hi, Raymond. Thanks for your question. Typically, after we receive your application and verify your documents, you should receive your Social Security card by mail within 10 business days. To follow up on your application for a Social Security replacement card, you may have to return to the local Social Security office where you filed your application. On your receipt there should be a local phone number for you to call and speak to someone about the status of your card. We hope this helps.

My husband is in prison nd he lost his social security card nd forgot the number I would like to know if i can go get him the new card or what can I do

    • Luis A.

Hi Naomi. Unless your husband can apply through an agreement, he will have to present the application in person himself. However, some correctional facilities have agreements with the Social Security Administration (SSA) to assist inmates currently incarcerated when trying to obtain a replacement Social Security card. The facility’s social workers or counselors can be very helpful in providing specific information for inmates trying to get their replacement social security card. If the facility does not have an agreement with SSA, our offices must follow normal application and evidence procedures. We hope this helps.

Entered my information and it tells me it’s incorrect. Why would it tell me that’?

    • Ann C.

Hi, Susan. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. If you are still unable to access your account or encounter a problem with your personal my Social Security account, you may:
•Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”; or
•Contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

  7. Tony L.

The application doesn’t allow me to enter any number 9s. It replaces them with a dash. As I have 9s in my birth date, zip code, phone number, and box 5 from my W2, it makes the account creation process impossible.

I requested a replacement Social Security card. I gave a wrong mailing address. How do I correct the address?

  10. James Z.

My SS# is not accepted for my replacement card. I have tried numerous times. What is wrong? On-line says…we do not recognize the SS#?
    Strange!
