The Federal Reserve Bank has sent Trillions to big corporations (Big Campaign Donors). This has caused tremendous inflation. This weakens the middle class and devastates the poor class. Since you are our stewards of our Social Security you are honor bound to speak up about the corruption. Except you know They will fire you. The Fed controls interest rates while actively managing their personal account for great returns.

Very pleased with how Ms Jackson handled my inquiry about the status of my 2020 tax return.

Thank you, Joseph. Your thoughts are important to us and we’re pleased when feedback is positive. We try hard to provide the best possible service to our customers and your satisfaction is our reward.

When you retire your income becomes largely fixed. SS Cola increases help a little but do not make up for inflation where everything becomes more expensive and healthcare becomes a major issue. Protect our ability to live at a decent level by increasing benefits or controlling inflation and health care costs. Right now these issues are not being addressed. Take care of our seniors like me who are being overlooked by the rush to help immigrants and illegal aliens who did nothing to build this country like I did. Your attitude for seniors to paraphrase Scrooge is “Let them die and be done with it”.

My SSA benefits were supposed to start on October 1, 2021. However, I still have not received any payment as of yet. I don’t know what the problem is. I have been liaising with the SSA but still nothing has happened.

For your security, Jeffrey, we do not have access to private information in this venue. You should contact your local Social Security office. Please look for the general inquiry telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator. The number may appear under Show Additional Office Information. We hope this information helps.

    I have a question

Can my husband have half of my social security for his monthly benefit without it changing my monthly benefit? He only started contributing 10years ago and his Will be really small when he retires at full retirement age.

    • Vonda

Hi CA, thanks for using our blog. Your husband needs to file for his own retirement benefit first. If benefits as a spouse are higher than his own retirement benefits, he will get a combination of benefits equaling the higher spouse benefit. However, the spouse’s benefit cannot exceed one-half of your full retirement amount (not your reduced benefit amount). So, he can only receive additional spouse’s benefits if his own full retirement benefit (not a reduced benefit) is less than half of your full retirement benefit. Benefits paid to your spouse will not decrease your retirement benefit.

If your spouse will receive a pension for work not covered by Social Security such as government employment, the amount of their Social Security benefits on your record may be reduced.

To find out if he is eligible for spouse’s benefits, he can call us at 1-800-772-1213 for assistance or he can contact his local Social Security office. Please look for the general inquiry telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator. The number may appear under Show Additional Office Information.  Please be aware that our call wait times are longer than normal. We hope this information helps.

Many older people do not have cell phones or know how to text including my parents. your 2 factor authentication makes it very difficult for them to log in to their account.. They are trying to log in on a desktop computer but then you want them to go to their phone to get a text. Please make it easier.

    • Kaye F.

Kk had nothing but a great experience with your representative on the phone.

      • Vonda

Thank you, Kaye. Your thoughts are important to us and we’re pleased when feedback is positive. We try hard to provide the best possible service to our customers and your satisfaction is our reward.

Hi Robert, thanks for using our blog. Individuals can use either their cell phone number or email address for their second factor authentication. There has to be a better way to communicate issues with your representatives. I have had an ongoing issue with your office since August of this year and it has not been resolved. Phone calls are not returned and calls to supervisors and managers never get answered. I am leaving my name here in the hopes that someone will get in touch with me to discuss the issue that I’m having.

    • Vonda

We are sorry to hear about your experience, Janie. You can submit feedback by visiting our Contact Social Security page. Once there, select the “Email Us” link. This will take you to the “Email A Question to our Support Team” form, where you can complete and submit a compliment, complaint, or suggestion. We hope this helps.
