    Janette Flowers

    • Hi, Janette. At this time there is not a way to schedule an appointment online. Generally, with an appointment, you will be helped before our walk-in customers. You can schedule an appointment with your local office by calling us at 1-800-772-1213 between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you need to call to set up an appointment in the future, you’ll have a shorter wait time if you call later in the day. Thanks!

    • Hello Janette. We currently do not have an online appointment scheduler. However you do not need an appointment to file for benefits or appeal a disability decision. You can file for the following benefits online:
      Retirement;
      Medicare; and
      Disability.

      If you do not want to apply for benefits online, or you need to speak to us for any other reason, you can schedule, reschedule or cancel an appointment by:
      •Calling us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; or
      •Contacting your local Social Security office. Thanks!

  5. can also go online and use our Retirement Estimator to estimate your future retirement benefits and plug in different dates to find your perfect retirement day. We’ll call that one chocolate because

  6. I have searched several sites within this program and found no way to apply for switching to spousal social security payments after the death of my husband. The local social security office in Orlando, FL told me I would need to get an appointment, but there was none available. That I would be contacted by US mail within 45 days. That was 44 days ago. It should not be this difficult to switch to my husband’s benefits after 44 years of marriage and the fact that his check was stopped within 5 days of his death. Please respond.

    • Hi, Mary Lou. We are sorry to hear about your loss and your experience. Unfortunately, but for your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community to continue to work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, you will have a shorter wait if you call later in the day. You can also contact your local Social Security office. You can ask to speak to a supervisor on your next visit or call. We hope this is resolved soon.
