How much can i earn before it effects my benefits? my benefits are $1451

    • Ray Fernandez, Public Affairs Specialist

Hello Alvin. You can get Social Security retirement benefits and work at the same time. However, if you are younger than full retirement age and make more than the yearly earnings limit, we will reduce your benefit.
See our Frequently Asked Questions web page for complete information.
      We hope this information helps!

If you retire at 62 are you ever eligible for increases in benefits?

    • Ray Fernandez, Public Affairs Specialist

Thank you for your question, Judy. If a person begins to receive benefits at age 62 or prior to their full retirement age, their benefits are reduced. The reduction factors are permanently applied to all of the benefits the person may qualify for.

In the grand scheme of things you actually receive an A just for hard work. Where you confused everybody was in all the specifics. You know, people say, the devil is in the details… And that couldn’t be much more true at this point. Having said that, permit me say to you exactly what did deliver the results. The writing is actually incredibly persuasive and that is possibly why I am making an effort in order to opine. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. Next, even though I can easily notice a jumps in logic you come up with, I am not really confident of how you seem to unite the points that produce the actual conclusion. For the moment I will, no doubt subscribe to your issue but wish in the foreseeable future you actually connect your dots better.

SS did not include my highest earnings for a five year period when calculating the amount I should receive each month. Why?

Please add NEGATIVE number ratings to the client feedback comments on your new SS.gov system. Currently the majority of ‘+1’ (out of a +5) are giving you too much good credit for a lousy response system when a -5 rating would be much more accurate!
