“I want to provide an update to people who receive benefits from the Social Security Administration.

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced on April 1 that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an economic impact payment. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 to generate $1,200 economic impact payments to Social Security beneficiaries who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019.

Treasury, not Social Security, will make automatic payments to Social Security beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will receive these payments by direct deposit or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their Social Security benefits.

For updates from the IRS, visit their web page.

Note for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Recipients:

We are working closely with Treasury to address outstanding questions about our SSI recipients in an attempt to make the issuance of economic impact payments as quick and efficient as possible. We realize people are concerned, and the IRS will provide additional information on their web page when available. Please note that we will not consider economic impact payments as income for SSI recipients, and the payments are excluded from resources for 12 months.”

hello, I am receiving social security I have received my economic relief payment end of April on direct deposit. I never received the 600$ for my son. Nobody is claiming him, and he is only 15 years old. I full out the IRS non fillers tab, and they sad they received the information. However I haven’t received nothing for him. I know he is due that payment. I did everything on time correctly. Nothing so far? Do you know why and how can i correct that. I did what they ask me to do,I cant wait til next year,.Can not contact anyone nobdy answers the phone.

Same with me and everyone else on SSDI. None of us got the $500 for our dependants. There are so many comments on here from people that filled out the non filers form and got nothing that were depending on that money. It’s ridiculous they expect us to wait until next year’s taxes when we don’t even file taxes. So we will have to pay to file taxes too just get the $500 they messed up on.

I receive sis retirement and haven’t relied a stimulus check on my direct express yet, when will I get the $1200;00?

    • Derek R.

Most got their stimulus today, almost everyone I knew that was waiting, so there might be some problem. If you get your regular monthly payment sent to direct deposit, then that is where it should go, if not, you will probably get a check in the mail.

When do we recieve our stimulus check

  9. Shirley C.

I receive my Social Security retirement check by direct deposit each month on
the 3rd. I have not received my stimulus check. I get $1311 per month in Social Security benefits. I do not file a tax return. I am concerned that I will not get a stimulus check. Everyone else I know has received theirs. Can you help me with mine?

  10. Christina B.

I normally get my Disability social security benefits by the 8th of the month. I have not received any benefits for May 2020. Please provide me with the best possible answer to resolve this issue. Thank you,
