amazing how the online appeal process site or document do not appear when trying to access. TYPICAL and disgusting

I have been checking my Spousal Benefit appeal on this new online status page and have not had any problems. They just changed it, but they do not explain that you need two internet devices (computer, smartphone, iPad, etc), one to log onto the SSA online appeal status site and one to receive the new “security code” while you are on the SSA site. If you have no email address or texting capability you cannot use this SSA online appeal status site. I wish they would have considered senior citizens and their limitations. Some people only access a computer at the library, they are now cut off from this online appeal status site.

Hi Carol, we now use a second method to check the identification of my Social Security account holders when they register or want to access their account. You can choose either your cell phone or your email address as your second identification method. If you’re having difficulties accessing your account or need assistance processing your request for an appeal, please call our toll free number at 1-800-772-1213. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Generally, you will have a shorter wait time if you call later during the day, or later in the week, thanks.

Where do I go from here.

  4. Ronald J.

I recently applied for Part B medicare. Our combined incomes are around $160,000.00. 2013 was $158,171.00 – 2014 was 163,969.00 – 2015 was $317,125. due to withdrawing 401-K money to make a purchase. 2016 income is $160,283.00 which is our true income. SSA picks 2015 income forcing us to pay double which I would not mind if that was my income each year. Also I will retire in March 2017 making our income less to pay the higher price. I feel my payment should be based on my true income and not some gotcha number. That is not fair.

My SSI benefits have been suspended cause my mail from social security was sent back; how can I reverse this suspension, and get my benefits reinstated , and expedited?

    • Ray F.

Hi Eric. Undelivered (or returned) mail, may cause us to suspend your benefits. A suspension of SSI eligibility for “whereabouts unknown” is proper when we cannot locate a recipient and cannot determine his or her current eligibility status. Remember that if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you must always report your change of address, directly to us. To have your SSI benefits reinstated, you will have to visit your local Social Security office and speak to one of our representatives. If you are unable to go to the office, please call our toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213 and ask a representative to assist you. Representatives are available Monday through Friday between 7a.m. and 7p.m. Thank you.

Question of the day. Do you believe the one million backlog is by design, or is it not by design. How about lost files by SSD, by design or not by design. A doctor that you pay $35 copay saying your disabled, or a $300,000 per year SSD medical expert saying your not, by design or not by design. How about out of date medical listings used for medical evaluations, to see if you are capable to do jobs that no longer exist in our economy, BY DESIGN, OR NOT BY DESIGN.

Read these posts and you will see how 50% of the public supported Trump. Misinformation is dangerous.

  8. Tony S.

    Dear Mr. Trump:

I have just rendered a non-medical decision firing 611 new Labor department employees and must ask that all laid-off employees be eligible to receive Unemployment Compensation although they might not have contributed the full year needed to qualify.

Labor spending rose from $31.9 billion FY2000 to a high of $173 billion FY2010 and is increasing 17% to $51 billion FY 2017 according to the Historical records of OMB. The FY 2017 request for the Department of Labor (DOL) is $12.8 billion in discretionary authority for 4.6% growth to 17,663 full-time equivalent employees (FTE) and $33.1 billion in mandatory funding for a total of $45.9 billion, 0.4% growth from the previous year. Agency with 2.5% annual growth is however not distinguished from welfare benefits with 3% annual growth by use of the term ‘mandatory’ and this is a core lesson for all federal agencies. -0.9% reduction in federal subsidies for state unemployment compensation (UC) benefits to $32.3 billion is intentional deprivation of relief benefits under 18USC§246. To get the account right 3% growth should be estimated for UC benefits and 2.5% for other agency employment and spending including UC administration. There are 136 million people with employment covered by UC insurance. The federal government should pay $33.6 for 3% UC growth FY 2017 and $13.4 billion for 2.5% growth in other agency programs for total labor department spending of $47 billion 2.8% growth, due to 3% growth in the UC welfare program and 2.5% growth in other agency programs, over the previous year labor department estimates that trump OMB estimates for the accuracy of the historical record.

The immunity of the Labor Secretary is based on their unemployment compensation payments. Excessive 3.8% growth of workforce population must be reduced to prevent sabotage by unqualified employees and attrition of wages by the lame duck. Labor employee population increased only 1.8% FY2015-16. Neoplastic Labor department employment estimates FY2017 exhibited their malignancy when two police officer were called out, shot and killed when the Labor Secretary was questioned on the death of a state retirement beneficiary by Secretary of Health and Human Services’ un-appointed National Institute for Disability Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDLRR) created in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 under the Slavery Convention of 1926 that abolishes ‘forced labor’ and is neatly applied to ‘enforcement’, ‘forest labor’, ‘labor enforcement’ and ‘workforce’ legislation used in so much Labor Department agencies. The NIDILRR has been repealed. Too bad it was nicely codified, it was just hijacked by the HHS Secretary who never appointed anyone but death, and only needed to change its name to Disability and Independent Living (DIL) webpage. This constitutes discrimination against disability. Labor department employment should be reduced from 17,663 to an estimated 17,052 for 1% Labor employee growth and 1.5% wage increase for 2.5% agency spending growth and 3% federal UC spending growth FY 2017. UC needs to be expanded to provide 14 weeks of paid maternity leave and 3 weeks paid sick leave to comply with ILO Conventions. Let the new labor employees receive unemployment compensation although they might not have been employed for the full year. UC pays more people for less, agency spending promotes competitive individuals who publish the statistical work of the nation and pay benefits with high levels of accuracy and administrative efficiency.

Labor Department. FY 2017 Budget-in-brief. All Purpose Table.

Social security administration are the ones who need to be charged with fraud. As a result of a nurse on drugs who rear ended me going excess of 50, severe cervical spine injury has left me a burden to my loved ones and penniless. I’ve worked every day since working papers at age of 14 and 2008 when that nurse hit me I had my working credits. SSA delayed until I lost my condo, every single one of those criminals I wish cancer on and I wish their children get cancer too particularly Utica NY, Syracuse office, adjudications office in Falls Church Virginia and that ignorant black judge who had zero business presiding over anyone’s case because he purposely doesn’t understand your case because he has a quota he needs to deny people and the automation helps him do so. The fraudsters in Buffalo New York who are third party hired by SSA to deny claims and twist, destroy proof, pick and chose what to scan and what not to scan, the nonsense in Kentucky SSA office as well. The job person who says sales and truly has no idea what each job entails because he/she resorts to a book, fat and uneducated. People who steal your life then busy at church on Sundays, disgusting human beings. All they know to do is to help their own family who never paid into the system, chooses to be on drugs. I wish cancer on every single person who has failed to act. You don’t do that to human beings. All of you are below animals. Social security administration personnel are the true criminals in our society. Robbing people of their benefits who paid into the system.

And you wonder why people laugh at you.

  10. Anthony P.

The sad part is everything in the blog it’s true, a lot of people are getting Social Security and SSI and then you hurt it for the people that deserve it need it to survive

    • Maria

There are a lot of people who are homeless living behind Rome train tracks as we speak who have gone down to Utica, Rome and Syracuse SSA offices and we’re denied there and they were denied Department of Social Services. These people are vulnerable. They are their with their child or children.

      • Tom

The truth is that there are a lot of people posting with horribly uninformed beliefs because for 36 years they have been trained to blame all of life’s problems on the government (by career politicians ironically) while they still rely on the government for help. Go figure.

The truth is that Congress set a high standard on what constitutes a disabling condition. A decision requires credible medical documentation. If you don’t get treatment, you have put yourself in a hole. The law also requires that you “have a condition that prevents substantial and gainful employment for jobs that exist in significant numbers in the national economy for a period of a year or a condition that will result in death.” Your Congress makes the law and likes nothing better than hiding behind the failures of any agency they deliberately underfund and cause to fail by their neglect. You vote for these jokers and then you re-elect them after your local office is closed or is down 50% of staff while demand increases and you have to wait hours for a chance to talk to someone or not get a busy signal. And then you elect a reality TV star as president to fix all this. Democracy, in order to function, properly relies on an informed electorate. Many of the folks posting here sadly may not meet that criteria. To believe that millions of the undeserving are on the rolls is profoundly false, ignorant and shameful.

        • Allen

I’ve got some pretty enlightening info for those that believe most people would rather live on SSD. I worked all my life and was diagnosed with cancer back in 09. The damage to my neck muscles from radiation causes me exquisite pain and is very disabling.

I applied for SSD in 2011 after working 2 years and finally could no longer. I was denied for 3 years. That’s 3 years without income, which is S.O.P for SSD. I almost committed suicide sveral times. When I finally got on it, it’s payout was just over $1000 of which they take $147 of for health care.

Why anyone who could work would choose to live a life with no money at all baffles me. I receive no additional help from state. No Food Stamps, No supplemental income, And I have applied but make to much money.

Please explain yourselves as to why you think this is a better option?

        • Former F.

Amen brother. Everyone has an opinion too! Your comment shows that you are intelligent, logical and well-informed, unlike most who just repeat baseless gibberish they hear from others, as if they were a bunch of demented parrots. Well said!

        • Bre

I worked for the gov’t for over 30 yrs., and the last statement above – by Tom – is “profoundly false, ignorant and shameful.” You would not believe what some of the people have been coached to do in order to gain benefits. Truly disabled people don’t need to be coached, but manipulative people will use children in ways unheard of when it comes to money!

    • James L.

Sounds like anyone can get disability but the disabled. Maybe that should be the new evaluation, if you can get disability, you are scamming the system and are therefore denied, and if you are denied then you are clearly disabled.
