I need to know my SS security benefits!

    • Vonda V.

Hi James, thanks for using our blog. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions web page for details on how to get a Social Security Statement which includes benefit estimates based on your work record.

If you’re seeking a Social Security retirement estimate, another option is the online Retirement Estimator that provides immediate retirement benefit estimates based on your actual Social Security earnings record. Plus, it allows you to create “what if” scenarios. You can, for example, change your “stop work” dates or expected future earnings to create and compare different retirement alternatives. We hope this helps!

Can you please let us know when offices would be open for new SSN card applications? Without SSN it’s difficult to even get a bank account or even health insurance. SSN offices are not considering new card applications. Is possible to apply SSN online or at least application can be filled online ?

    • Vonda V.

Hi Niranjan, thanks for using our blog. We continue to process Social Security Numbers and issue cards for certain lawful immigrants, we call these processes Enumeration at Entry (EAE) and Enumeration beyond Entry(EBE).

If these automated processes are not available to you, we may be able to offer an in-office appointment for a new card request based on available staff and office operating status. Please call your local office to see if an in-office appointment is necessary and possible. To contact your local office, please look for the local office telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator under “Social Security Office Information” for the office you select. The toll-free “Office” number is your local office.

        Thank you for replying.

It’s more then a month, Every week i call them to check the appointment availability. And somehow one Representative said my it’s not gonna open until October. I really need the SSN(Still don’t qualify at SSN office requirements, Job at Risk or medical emergency ) currently.

I see a option to fill the form and send required documents to SSN office for new card application. To confirm i just call my SSN office(Bellevue), the Representative said you can send the documents but your application will be denied.

        Just confused what to do

  8. Brian M.

I was wondering if I qualified for disability, and if I did how much will I get

    • Vonda V.

Hi Brian. We pay disability benefits through two programs: the Social Security Disability Insurance program (SSDI) and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. To qualify for SSDI benefits, you must have worked long enough and recently enough in jobs covered by Social Security (usually within the last 10 years). The (SSI) program is a needs based program that gives cash assistance to disabled individuals with limited income and resources. We pay disability benefits to people who are unable to work because of a medical condition that is expected to last one year or more or to end in death. If you think you may be eligible to receive disability benefits and would like to apply, you can use our online application.

Your Social Security Statement gives you secure and convenient access to your earnings records and shows estimates for retirement, disability and survivors benefits you and your family may be eligible for. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions web page for details on how to get your Social Security Statement.
