      Hello Carol, you may be able to receive benefits on your ex-spouse’s record at age 62 if:
      • You were married to your ex-spouse for at least 10 years;
      • You are unmarried;
      • Your ex-spouse is entitled to Social Security retirement or disability benefits and,
      • The benefit you are entitled to receive based on your own work is less than the benefit you would receive based on your ex-spouse’s work.

  8. Robert G.

    Help not a complaint! On 2016 MAGI$ 356779. IRMAA Part D an B the deduction was figured on the MAX $320000 for 2018 monthly benefits for my wife and myself filing jointly. I understand! We had a one time ONLY sell of farmland that had been in the family 35 years. Form4797 amt. $152319. This caused our SS to go downed. The local office said could not help. Is there anything that provides further review.
    Thank You
    Did not know where to turn.
